On the Second of November 2018 my beautiful blue eyed social
worker Nandi, who has been a faithful supporter and friend on this journey came over to my house to ask if we were still interested in adopting…
...at least Rohan and Reta, I responded! (because that was starting to look doable)
BUT she was talking
about all four!
All four?!
We let it go of this as
an impossible dream last year already.
On World Foster Day this year, I resolved to caring for each life even if it
meant in foster care. Adoption looked
impossible! That process in and of
itself was a very difficult one.
The day before this conversation the government social worker of all the children
had called her to talk through the thin line between parental rights being removed (one day I will tell more about this) and adoption. He encouraged her
to talk to us about adoption…
Before we were even in touch with the reality of this we
were in touch with an adoption social worker who was very helpful and more than
willing to take our case…we were so excited. The timing is so wrong and so right. In adoption month two years ago, we made the decision and got all the paper work in motion to help these kids. Two years later in adoption month we are being given the hope that our original dream is possible!
Today we sent our contract to our adoption social worker. On Thursday we meet with her…
The process is in motion…
The money for it, if all goes smoothly is already provided!
Please keep us in prayer… and these little lives and their biological
family. We want the very best for them,
whatever that turns out to be.
